Your element and modality balance

Every sign belongs to an element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) and to a modality (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable). The balance in your reading is a count of your own placements: how many of them fall in each group. That is the whole measurement. A count is not evidence that a trait is true of you.

It is still useful for reading. The counts show which register your chapters keep returning to and which one is barely represented. Fire and Cardinal placements lean toward beginning something, Earth and Fixed toward continuing it, Air toward exchange and explanation, Water toward response and context, Mutable toward adjusting a plan already under way.

Two rules keep the count honest. A leader only leads when it stands alone: when two elements tie, your reading names both rather than quietly picking the first one. And the total is small, so a difference of a single placement is not a finding. Read the balance as a shape and compare it with how you actually work before you keep any of it.
