The wheel is the ecliptic, the Sun's yearly path, cut into twelve signs of 30 degrees. Each planet stands at its longitude for the birth minute; the houses are whole signs counted from the sign rising in the east; the chords join planets at the five classical angles.

About this tool
What does this birth chart calculator draw?
This free birth chart calculator places the Sun, the Moon, the planets to Pluto and the Moon's North Node at their signs and degrees for one minute and one place, then draws them as a wheel with the twelve houses and the aspects between them. The positions come from the ephemeris, Jean Meeus's public-domain algorithms. The big three calculator gives three placements of the same chart on their own, the Sun, the Moon and the rising sign, and the draconic chart calculator draws the chart turned until the Moon's North Node stands at 0 Aries.
Is this birth chart calculator free, with no sign-up or email?
Yes. The chart is drawn on this page without an account or an email address. The seven-generation reading is separate: a free account reads the first lines of the first generation, your own, and a paid plan opens the rest of it and the other six.
Is a birth chart the same as a natal chart?
Yes. The two names describe the same thing: the sky at the minute and place of a birth, with every planet's sign, the houses and the angles between the planets.
What if I do not know the birth time?
Choose that you do not know it. The page still gives every planet for the whole local day, with the minute the Moon changed sign if it did, but no houses and no angles. The time and the place set the Ascendant and the houses, which turn through all twelve signs in a day, and the Moon moves about 13 degrees a day. The rising sign calculator shows every sign that rose that day at the birthplace, with its times. The Moon sign calculator draws the Moon's whole path through the birth day.
Which house system does it use?
Whole-sign houses: the sign on the Ascendant is the first house, the next sign the second, and so on round the wheel. Each house is one whole sign.
What are the aspects?
The angles between two planets along the ecliptic: conjunction (0 degrees), sextile (60), square (90), trine (120) and opposition (180). Each is listed with its orb, how far it is from exact, and the wheel draws it as a hairline chord.
How accurate is it?
An independent check against the Swiss Ephemeris found every position within about two arcminutes for the example birth. A planet within about one degree of a sign's edge can fall either side in another program, and dates outside 1900 to 2050 are less certain. Inside the polar circles the Ascendant is not defined for every minute, and the page says so.
